Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 22, 2026
PlayMap respects your privacy. This policy describes what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
Account info: name, email address, password (stored hashed), and the ZIP code you provide at signup.
Location: only when you choose to share it — either through your browser’s location prompt or by entering a city / ZIP into the location picker. Your live location is never shared with other users.
Content you create: saved spots, reviews, photos, and any spots you submit. Reviews and submitted spots are publicly visible after moderator approval.
Usage data: anonymized information about how you use the app (pages visited, search queries) to help us improve.
How we use it
To run the service, show you nearby spots, personalize your recommendations, moderate community content, and communicate with you about your account. We don’t sell your personal data.
Who can see what
Your email, password, and exact location are never shown publicly. Your reviews show your display name. Your saved spots and search history are private to you.
Third-party services
We use Supabase for accounts and data storage, Vercel for hosting, and Mapbox to power the map. Each handles data under their own privacy policies.
Your choices
You can view, update, or delete your account from the Account page. Deleting your account removes your profile and personal data; reviews you’ve written may remain visible in anonymized form (without your name).
Children
PlayMap is intended for adult users. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
